Schizophrenia

Questions from viewers about schizophrenia,
and Doctor Leon’s common sense advice.

Crystal – I hear voices .Am I crazy?

Doctor Leon – Attempting to relate voices to a state of sanity is a futile correlational exercise. The question of your sanity depends on a universally accepted definition of the word “crazy,” and no such definition exists. You may or may not be crazy for any number of reasons totally unrelated to the voices. You may or may not be crazy depending on whose definition you use.

As for the voices, you are either living too close to a radio transmitting tower or your cell phone signals are embedding  permanent magnetic disruption imprints on your grey matter. These magnetic resonance disturbances are often misinterpreted by untrained intellects as “voices.” Change stations and try for a little music. Music will not disrupt your daily routine the way the voices do. Avoid rap music, that would be too much like the voices.
